Pink Eye or Injury?

I recently had a doe with a weepy eye, and it very quickly clouded over. Visited with the Vet for a bit and read up some.
Any time you have teary eyes, check under the third eyelid for foreign objects, sometimes its even just pieces of hay. If something has constantly irritated, or injured the eye it will become cloudy.  The seven layers of the lens don't match up where they should, causing it to be cloudy. Terramycin eye ointment is the most common remedy.  If it is caused by a bacteria, 2-3 drops of penicillin in each eye will reduce the infection.  Pink eye usually starts in the middle of lens, injury can be anywhere. My doe had a large cloudy spot to the top of her eye, which I found out later Ben got her with the pitchfork while feeding.

Anytime you handle a goat with pink eye, wash your hands, it can pass to humans.
